Dr. Kelsie Effrein is a board-certified foot and ankle surgeon at On The Move Podiatry, specializing in both conservative and surgical treatment of a wide range of lower extremity conditions.

Graduated with honors and ranked in the top five of her class.

Residency & Clinical Training
Dr. Effrein completed a rigorous three-year surgical residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle Surgery at Detroit Medical Center in 2022.
Served as Chief Resident, leading her cohort and collaborating with over 50 attending physicians.
Participated in alternating lower extremity trauma calls with orthopedic surgery every other week at a Level II trauma center.
Gained extensive experience covering six different hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.

Dr. Effrein is skilled in both non-surgical and surgical treatment of a wide spectrum of foot and ankle disorders. Her areas of expertise include:
Structural deformities: Bunions, hammertoes, flat feet, high arches, brachymetatarsalgia (short toe)
Soft tissue & tendon issues: Achilles tendon tears/repairs (including minimally invasive), posterior tibial tendon dysfunction, ligament injuries
Chronic conditions: Plantar fasciitis, arthritis, fat pad atrophy, hyperhidrosis (excess sweating of the feet), Haglund’s deformity
Trauma care: Fractures of the ankle, calcaneus, and midfoot; sports-related injuries
Diabetic limb care: Advanced wound care, diabetic foot and ankle management, limb salvage
Custom solutions: Fabrication and fitting of custom orthotics to support long-term biomechanical correction
